Church Retreat

Where can you experience Friday evening bluegrass vespers in the great outdoors, enjoy an afternoon encounter with a variety of animals in a private zoo, see photos of future babies morphed from their parents’ photos, witness contestants vying for prizes in Sumo Jeopardy, and join Pastor Andy as he leads out in a traditional worship “dance”?  At the Florida Hospital Church Annual Church Retreat, of course!

This year’s event will be held at Camp Kulaqua the weekend of April 9-11, and the speaker will be Zane Yi.  Zane and his wife, Angela, recently relocated from New York to Atlanta, GA, where he was born and raised. He's currently completing his Ph.D. in Philosophy at Fordham University and has an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary.  Zane is passionate about helping people take a thoughtful look at their spiritual lives and wrestle with tough questions about life and faith from a Christian perspective.  He has served as a campus minister on both private and public universities and as a youth and young-adult pastor.

If you’d like to begin your Sabbath morning with a small group Bible study, head to the Cafeteria at 8:00 am for “Jesus and a Cup of Joe”.  “The Quest” is a planned scavenger hunt for 12-17 year olds on Saturday afternoon.  If you play an instrument, be sure to bring it with you to be a part of the Open Air Praise Jam beginning at 5:00 pm.  A Sunday morning Pathfinder Pancake Breakfast will be offered in the new picnic pavilion.  For a small ticket price of $4/person, you can enjoy a delicious meal while supporting the Pathfinders of the Hospital Church.  Last – but certainly not least – the Saturday Night Variety Show hosted by David Banks and Eddie Braga is sure to be filled with surprises.  This is just a peek into an amazingly memorable weekend that you won’t want to miss!  Click here to download the schedule for the weekend.

Registration is now open.  Accommodations fill up fast, so be sure to complete your form and turn it in with payment in full to the Church Office or email Tami.  Housing Diagrams are available on Camp Kulaqua's website.  Chalets, Efficiency Apartment, Guest Cabins, Mini Lodges, and the Spring View Cottage are no longer available.

There will be no worship services at the Hospital Church on April 10 because we will be gone at church retreat.
